My coach asked me to design a t-shirt for a cheer clinic that the high school cheerleaders are conducting this weekend, the age group is elementry to middle school and I didnt get much more specifics than that other than to include Aloha and Cheer and not "cheer clinic"
I feel like there is too much cluttered in one area... I like the design and what is says and such, but maybe you could try a different layout? Or move something to the back? Like, you could have the "there is no halftime for cheerleaders" big and bold on the front and move the school logo and Aloha Cheer 2011 to the back.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you decide is fine, you're shirts in the past have looked great.
Also, did you get my recommendation on your layout (I sent it in an email)? I love how you are proud of your work and all (don't get me wrong, it's beautiful and you should be proud), but it requires a lot of scrolling to get to your posts... Maybe try rearranging things just a little bit?
I just got your response back. It was just a suggestion, so no worries. :)
ReplyDeleteNice asymmetrical design. Balanced and easy to read. The energetic, jagged line quality in the warrior is matched nicely by your font choice. I would move the a, r and 1 away from the warrior slightly so there is a little more breathing room. The black on the warriors face makes it look like he has two black scar marks. I would play with the line thickness.
ReplyDeleteMost schools have identity policies that prevent groups from altering the school logos. Our school has been very laid back, but is talking about adopting a more consistent look. Before you have the design printed you should clear the use of the warrior head in that style with Mr. Yarnell. He will either grant you permission or ask you to use the original color scheme without the black outline. It is a branding and identity issue and technically every time I allow or assign an assignment that alters the logo were are altering another designers logo (something that isn't okay in the design world).
